Beer, Here!

Here's to the Beers

and all the years.

Every year Martha Clara Vineyards hosts the North Fork Craft Beer, Wine, and BBQ festival on their vast extended property.  It is heaven for the beer connoisseur, a magical grassland filled with hundreds of craft beer brewers.  A lot of them are from Long Island or the New York area in general, because we like to support local in these parts.  Although this year, I tried some really good ones from down south and Kona brewing company from Hawaii is there every year.

This year we had 3 breweries from my home town all present; Mustache Brewery, Crooked Ladder, and my favorite Long Ireland. Amazing beer and cool conversationalists, I highly recommend anyone to go down to their brewery in Polish Town in Riverhead, NY and do a tasting!

Every year I always find a few new beers that intrigue me, this year I really enjoyed the Mustache Brewery: "Mojito Beer" which is also right here in my hometown area.  I also enjoyed Empire, "White Afro", and Bayou Tech, "Passione biere".  Every year I find it is actually getting more and more difficult to try beers that I have never had before.  I'll admit it, I love craft beer and BBQ food- so I most certainly indulged a bit.

In dressing for this event, even though it is a big east end event held on a vineyard's property- you don't want to be over dressed.  It is still a beer tasting with homestyle BBQ food in a field that starts at noon.  Yes, there will be girls trying to wear their sunday best, sometimes even their saturday night's best with heels, yes straight up heels aerating the fields.

So when dressing for an outdoor festival you don't want to be that girl.  I wanted to have a cute, but simple, pulled together look.  I knew I wanted to be comfy and just wear shorts and flat sandals, but I'm not usually a plain jean shorts and basic t-shirt sort of girl.  I thought this would be a good opportunity to wear these adorable tiered shorts.  I paired them with a simple button-up and one of my favorite pairs of sandals.

i wore:

 \\ PHILOSOPHY button-down tank top // FRACESCA'S ruffled shorts //
\\ SAKS 5TH AVE necklace // VERSACE sunglasses // SAKS 5TH AVE bracelet //
\\ F21 studded bag// STUART WEITZMAN gladio sandals //
