Little Miss Can't be Wrong

Partying like its 1993.
Brooklyn, Bowling, Beers, Fried Chicken & the Spin Doctors.

Something to do on a random Tuesday, why not? Take the train to Brooklyn, see a 90's throwback for only $15 bucks, bowl and get some fly socks, drink ice cold pitchers of Brooklyn brewery beers, and eat some of the best fried chicken in BK- sounds like a pretty sweet night to me.

Love, love the Brooklyn Bowl- such a fun little venue to hang in.  I love the open face brick and funky fun house-esque decor, it just has a great vibe all together.  This is also the same place I saw Talib Kweli a few months ago (seen here) and I had a great time at both shows.  The have good beers on tap and great pub fare! Their fried chicken was actually on Food Network's show, "Best Thing I ever Ate," and if possible it was better than my expectations as were the smoked chicken mac and cheese and the awesome potato knish that was more like creamy onion potato tart . I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for something to do or to go see a show or maybe even just for some fried chicken.

The Spin Doctor's were actually quite good live, they were super jivy and fun.  I was pleased to hear that their new album that they were promoting is a blues album and they tracks they played were incredibly good.  The very thin, very blonde front man, Chris Barron- the one doing the wind-mill kicks on stage let loose some new blues  and ponied up with a ton of soul.  He was complimented by the amazing guitar work of Erin Shenkman, the percussion by Aaron Comes, and the the man with the bass: Marc White- who was awesome. They were all great and they are all the original members as well, which I think is really cool and often rare for bands.

As for the look, I wanted something that was cute enough to be out in during the evening, yet casual enough to be walking around during the day.  I thought the silky patterned pencil skirt and the sheer creme button up together were a touch dressy, but that the denim jacket, flat sandals and the messenger bag really mellowed out the skirt and made it appropriate for my evening.  I also feel I can wear this skirt dressed up or down the same, I though the silky material and funky pattern made for a versatile piece.
