Urban Flow Juxtaposed

Sometimes you just need to let your inner urbanite out. Living on Long Island, a quick hour (and a half) ride brings me right into New York City. The Big Apple is filled with inspirational fashion; I can't begin to tell you how much I've learned from spending time there. My foray into urban street style has been evolving over the last year or so and I've slowly been adding pieces into my wardrobe to begin to pull it together. This look is inspired by that urban street style - just in a far-from-urban place.

Style is about attitude; you should never feel like you shouldn't be yourself. If you're feeling an urban look in suburbia - or in this case, rural Long Island - go for it! Even if the look seems 'out of place,' if you're comfortable with yourself, you can never be 'out of place.' Rock those urban looks in suburbia; or flaunt your country-style in the throws of city life. Don't be afraid to BE YOU.

For this look, I decided to go with some cotton-blend joggers, white high tops and an oversized long tee with rolled edges. The best part about this tee is that the more you wash it, the more the edges on the bottom, pocket and sleeves get distressed. Joggers are super comfortable and stylish and you can't go wrong with plain, white high tops - the look is effortless, stylish and urban: all of the things I was looking to portray.
