Hampton's Vice

Summer is here! Beaches, the sun, hot temperatures and summer fashion are afoot and living in the locale that I do, the regular 't-shirt and shorts' routine just won't cut it some days. Don't get me wrong - I frequently rock shorts and a tee, but that doesn't really mean you're dressed for every occasion. This look is for those days when you need to look a bit more put together, but still weather appropriate; maybe happy hour on the dock overlooking the water with that special someone - or soon-to-be special someone?

Summer calls for linen and other lightweight fabrics, bright colors and lighter colors. This particular look covers all of those bases - it's lightweight, has bright and light colors and even has a touch of the good ol' boat shoe; a staple of island living. Linen is a great summer fabric because not only is it lightweight and (mostly) breathable, but when it wrinkles, you're still in the clear!

I opted for a light beige linen blazer over a linen blend v-neck tee. The bright blue hue of the shirt is a great color for this time of year and plays off the light color of the blazer and pants very well. The pants I'm wearing aren't quite white; they're more of a 'stone white' and work well with the blazer as well. Tying the look together are the blue boat shoes I'm wearing - very appropriate for daytime shenanigans near the water. Finally, what would a summer day be without a great pair of shades? I opted for my tortoise shell Ray-Bans because the browns in the glasses play off the light beige blazer and brown stripe on the shoe.

What I'm Wearing:

THEORY  |  linen blazer

RAY-BAN  |  sunglasses

THEORY  |  pants

ALDO  |  shoes

THEORY  |  linen tee

I hope you all have enjoyed checking out this cool, elevated casual summer look. I definitely enjoyed putting it together for all of you and who wouldn't enjoy shooting on the lovely beaches of Long Island? Enjoy your linens while you can; summer doesn't last forever!

Until next time,

Mind Your Manners.
