tuxedo chic

Roll out the red carpet, it's Oscar's Season! Every year, the movie lovers and fashionistas come together with a shared love of one event: because let's face it —who watches the Academy Awards just to see who wins a gold dipped little man. That is unless, Leo will finally be taking one home, we all know he deserves it. Everyone wants to see who is wearing what, or rather who they are wearing. The oscars brigade of glitz and glam is in my top two big fashionable events, only under the Met Gala -that is.

These kinds of affairs are "black tie" formal attire; bring on the gowns, tuxedos, sky-high heels, and perfectly styled hair. Though, let's be real: I can't afford my lifestyle, let alone: all that. I can barely afford to "rent the runway", but throw together a little homage to classic red carpet attire: that I can do.

Instead of styling your classic long gown or trendy short dress, I decided to take of play on the classic men's tuxedo, making it a little rock and roll, and obviously making it feminine. Black and white classic with a little rock edge, yes. A classic white shirt with tuxedo details, the signature Altuzarra pencil skirt from a very affordable line, a smoking jacket, punk rock accessories, and of course a great shoe.

Be sure to check back Sunday night after the oscars to see RP and my picks for best and worst dressed from Oscars 2016.
